iMMO primarily works for suspected victims of torture and inhumane treatment and asylum seekers with medical problems. It generally provides three types of assessment.
- Assessing medical and psychological problems that may affect the capability of t he asylum seeker to properly express his or her application for asylum.
- Assessment of asylum seekers who claim to have been the victim of torture or inhumane treatment in their country of origin. The medical assessment may serve as supporting evidence for the asylum application.
- An assessment or consultation regarding asylum or migrant affairs in which medical aspects may play an important role, requiring an independent medical report or advice.
